Blackfalds girl, 11, raising money for Red Deer neonatal intensive care unit

BLACKFALDS – Hannah Stendie, 11, wants to give back to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that helped two of her siblings.

Hannah started a $250 GoFundMe account on Dec. 1 and has since surpassed her original goal. As of Dec. 23, she has raised $550. She collected $410 on the GoFundMe page and another $140 in cash donations and a bottle drive. Altogether she has raised about $550 and is collecting donations until Dec. 31.

Hannah said if she reached her $250 goal by her birthday she would cut and donate her hair to Angel Hair, which helps provide free wigs to children with cancer.

“Help me help other kids and make a donation today,” said Hannah.

Since she reached that goal by her birthday she did cut her hair to donate to Angel Hair.

Hannah’s mom, Rebecca Stendie, said Hannah has always been a compassionate, loving kid.

“Her drive to volunteer and give back to her community is inspiring and her dad and I are so proud of the person she is.”
